SONNETT

The truth is a thing I will only do* (a)
To look back at this I think of just him* (b)
The boy had an addiction and only few knew*(a)
It made his life dark⁰, cold⁰ and grim⁰* (b)
Was I who helped over his tracks* (c)
But at the time I hadn't seen the wrong* (d)
Above had seen the outcome of his acts* (c)
For all that he sought was to be long* (d)
The days passed and he lost control and*(e)
So he went to find what he was urging for * (f)
Had he meant to overdose, was he glad? (e)
Only fifteen was he when life outwore* (f)
The drugs first like a queen be in a hive* (g)
And I am sad he didn't stay alive* (g)
